Abstract
The Excessive Use Of Chemical Pesticides In Rice Cultivation In Lombok Has Led To Various Environmental And Health Problems, Including Pest Resistance To Synthetic Compounds. This Study Aims To Examine The Potential Of Biopesticides As An Environmentally Friendly And Sustainable Alternative For Pest Control In Rice Farming In The Lombok Region. The Method Used Is A Literature Review By Analyzing Various Scientific Sources, Including Journal Articles, Books, And Relevant Research Reports. The Findings Show That Biopesticides Derived From Local Plants Such As Neem Leaves (Azadirachta Indica), Soursop (Annona Muricata), And Citronella (Cymbopogon Nardus) Are Effective In Suppressing Major Rice Pests, Including Brown Planthoppers, Stem Borers, And Rice Bugs. Furthermore, Biopesticides Are Proven To Leave No Harmful Residues, Preserve Beneficial Insect Populations, And Improve The Agroecological Quality Of Rice Fields. The Application Of Biopesticides In Lombok Holds Significant Potential For Further Development, Especially Through Participatory Farmer Approaches And The Support Of Sustainable Agricultural Policies. This Review Recommends The Integration Of Biopesticides Into Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Systems To Support Local Food Security And Sustainable Productivity.
