Abstract
Writing short stories is a fundamental competency that students at the junior high
school (SMP/MTs) level are expected to master. This study examines the concept
and implications of utilizing the KaryaKarsa application in the teaching process
of short story writing, drawing on local wisdom, to enhance students’ abilities in
writing culturally grounded short stories through digital platforms, and to explore
the integration of local values in learning. This research employs a library
research method, utilizing data obtained from secondary sources, including
books, articles, and other relevant literature that discuss short story instruction,
the use of the KaryaKarsa application, and the role of local wisdom in education.
The results show that KaryaKarsa not only improves students’ writing skills but
also fosters a more engaging and effective learning atmosphere. Moreover,
writing short stories based on local wisdom serves as a medium for cultural
preservation and the promotion of local identity through digital literature.
