Author Guidelines
Authors who wish to publish in the Indonesian Journal of Educational Innovation (IJEI) must carefully read and follow the requirements listed below.
The article must be original, has not been published elsewhere, is not under consideration for publication in any other media or journal, and must have a similarity index of no more than 20% as checked using Turnitin.
The article should be written in either Indonesian or English. The article’s structure must include: title; author’s name; abstract with keywords; introduction; method; results and discussion; conclusion; and references.
The document must be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) with the following format:
- Font: Times New Roman
- Font size: 10 pt
- Line spacing: 1.0
- Two-column layout with column spacing of 0.76 cm
Preliminary Section
Title
- Times New Roman, 14 pt
- Capitalize the first letter of each major word
Author and Affiliation
- Times New Roman, 10 pt
- Affiliation format: Department Name, Organization Name, City, Country
Abstract
- Written in English
- Single paragraph
- Maximum 250 words
- Times New Roman, 10 pt
- Should include background, research objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and scientific implications or recommendations (without headings)
Keywords
- Three to five keywords
- Lowercase letters (except proper nouns)
- Relevant to the article and discipline
Main Text
Introduction
The introduction should place the research in a broader context and highlight its importance. It should not exceed 20% of the article body and preferably consist of four paragraphs.
- Begin with scientific values and supporting data
- Explain the central theoretical concept
- Present actual problems and possible solutions
- State the urgency and purpose of the study
The introduction should be written to be understandable by researchers outside the specific research field.
Method
The method section must be written concisely and clearly, describing the implementation of the research.
- Time and location of the research
- Type of research
- Population and sample (including sampling techniques and references)
- Variables and data collection instruments
- Research procedures described systematically
- Statistical formulas are unnecessary unless special analytical techniques are used
Length limitations:
- Qualitative research: maximum 10% of article content
- Quantitative research: maximum 15% of article content
Results and Discussion
This section should be the most substantial part of the manuscript, comprising at least 60% of the article body.
- Results are presented first, followed by discussion in a separate subheading
- Results may be presented in tables, figures, graphs, verbal descriptions, or combinations
- Tables and figures must be concise and referred to in the text
- Tables do not contain vertical lines; horizontal lines appear only at the top and bottom
- Discussion must interpret results based on theory and previous research
Conclusion
The conclusion should emphasize the contribution of the work to the scientific community and its potential economic implications.
Postliminary Section
References
- Follow APA 7th Edition Publication Manual
- All cited references must appear in the reference list and vice versa
- Consistency in author names and publication years is required
- Footnotes and endnotes are not permitted
- Use reference management software such as EndNote, Mendeley, Zotero, or EasyBib
